Amelia Sainsbury
IA Manager

Amelia is an IP solicitor, specialising in contentious IP matters. She advises clients on a wide range of intellectual property disputes relating to trade marks, passing off, copyright and design rights, from pre-action correspondence through to formal proceedings before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) and High Court, as well as having broader experience acting in commercial and contract disputes. Amelia has extensive experience in assisting clients with the management of their trade mark portfolios and providing pragmatic advice on the protection and enforcement of their intellectual property rights. She also advises clients on commercial contracts and how to advertise in-line with rules and guidance set by the Advertising Standards Authority.

Amelia joined Stobbs in 2016, after completing her training with Bond Dickinson (now known as Womble Bond Dickinson). Amelia has benefited from extensive in-house experience during her training and since qualification: firstly, within the legal department of the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of fancy dress products, during which time she gained considerable expertise in the protection and enforcement of brands online; secondly, within the IP team at Tesco PLC, with a specific focus on marketing and advertising law; and, most recently, during a year spent as a member of Liverpool FC's in-house legal team, advising and acting on a wide range of commercial matters.

Amelia's qualifications include an LLB in Law from the University of Durham and a Postgraduate Diploma in IP Law and Practice from the University of Oxford.

Outside of work, Amelia enjoys reading, attempting to cook, visiting new places and enjoying good food and wine with friends and family.
