Bruce Alexander
Consultant

Bruce is a business consultant to Stobbs, a role he has fulfilled since Stobbs was founded. Bruce retired from practice as a patent and trade mark attorney in 2011 after 38 years at a major UK firm, latterly as senior partner. Julius tempted him out of retirement when Stobbs was founded and his second retirement is postponed annually. He now works with Stobbs on projects mainly in the areas of financial/business management and business development. He attends the INTA and APAA annual meetings. Bruce is an experienced patent and trade mark attorney and litigator. He has degrees in engineering and law and qualified as a patent attorney before email was invented. He spent his first career practicing in both patents and trade marks. He was managing partner of his former firm for many years and retired as senior partner. He is also a former board member of IPReg (the legal regulator for the patent and trade mark professions) and a past president of CIPA (the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys). His outside interests, apart from family and grandchildren, include attempting to improve his golf and part ownership of a pub. He enjoys spending time at his second home in the Algarve which happens to be on a golf course!
