Sarah Fellows
IA Director

Sarah is an IP lawyer with 15 years' experience and joins Stobbs after spending 6 years in-house as Head of IP at the online fashion group, Yoox Net-a-Porter. It's an exciting and unusual move back into private practice and Sarah is hoping to bring her years of in-house IP know-how to deliver to Stobbs' clients exactly what they are looking for. She will put to good use her expertise of delivering business goals, while minimising risk and maximising potential; whether it be for new product or territory launches, industry-leading initiatives or cross-border litigation.

Sarah has a wealth of contentious and non-contentious IP expertise, as well as a strong foundation of general commercial contract experience. She was in charge of YNAP's vast trade mark portfolio, including prestigious brands such as NET-A-PORTER, MR PORTER, YOOX and THE OUTNET. Sarah is also experienced in dealing with IP contracts, such as brand collaborations, trade mark licences and creative and publishing contracts.

A key skill of Sarah's is devising strategy and structures to maximise the potential of the IP in a business. Sarah can craft an IP strategy from scratch, tailoring it for the business in question and covering all areas of IP, including trade marks, designs, online enforcement, copyright, patents, IP contracts and domain names.

Sarah is experienced in design and trade mark infringement matters (including acting in multi-jurisdictional court proceedings and opposition and revocation proceedings before the UK IP Office and OHIM). She also has experience of online monitoring and enforcement and she specialises in anti-counterfeiting, having previously acted for some of the biggest luxury brands, like Moët Hennessy and Richemont.

Outside of work, when not fully occupied by her young family (i.e. rarely!) Sarah enjoys running, yoga, playing the piano and making her own clothes.

Wild Swans by Jung Chang.

Favourite gadget?

I'm not really a gadget girl but my Garmin watch is useful for tracking runs and bike rides.

Favourite film?

Amélie.

Choice of night out?

Any kind with dancing!

Choice of dress code?

Red carpet. I love dressing up as much as my 3 and 5 year old daughters!

Choice of holiday?

Experiencing anywhere I haven't been previously, ideally a world away from home!

What sound or noise do you love?

The hoot of an owl during the late evening in my garden.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Fashion designer, landscape gardener or children's author.

Favourite brand?

Having eaten, slept and breathed brands at NET-A-PORTER this is tricky to narrow down. I did go a bit nuts in the Prada sale before leaving and you can never go wrong with a Chloe handbag and Jimmy Choos!
