BREAKING: New Class 47 Added to Trade Mark Classification System

The worldwide governing body responsible for the international classification of goods and services has today announced the expansion of the classification system to include a new service class, Class 47. The 2016 supplement version of the tenth edition comes into force effective immediately.

An official spokesperson for the organisation is reported as saying that never before have they seen this level of enthusiasm surrounding the classification system. “There was absolutely no excitement when we released the 2000 update adding new service classes 43, 44, and 45 to address an overflowing Class 42. But now, our team is truly eager to help what it sees as the need to increase awareness for non-conventional services.”

Although the full listing of Class 47 services is still being formulated, we understand that the class heading will refer to:

Ghost extermination; Dragon slaying; Fairy and troll catching; Professional rock-skipping; Parody [provision of].
