More Time for .sucks
More Time for .sucks
We reported earlier the implications of the .sucks domain name for brand owners. In a move that may have been motivated by a surge of last minute registrations, Vox Populi have now extended the Sunrise period for this extension until 19 June 2015. Whether brand owners are thinking of defensively registering numerous “.sucks” domain name and parking on it, protectively registering their own brand in the “.sucks” sphere or waiting to see what happens, there is a window of further time for these deliberations to be made. As mentioned, brand owners would have to take into account a variety of factors when determining the strategy that best suits their business and brand. As of 1 May 2015, around one quarter of the new gTLDs  are now active. We wait to see what will unfold with the other new gTLDs still to be launched.
