UKIPO Fast Facts for 2017

The UKIPO has updated its booklet called Fast Facts about IP (see here). This provides statistics on UK IP rights, protection, investment etc. Trade mark fans will note one of the facts in the trade mark section that “a 2011 IP study found that firms that apply for trade marks are on average 7% more productive that those that do not”. The full report of the “Trade Mark Incentives” study ( here) includes many interesting observations about the correlation between trade marks and performance.
