Gareth joined Stobbs as an IA Trainee in 2025, following a number of years as Brand Protection Manager / In-House Counsel at David Austin Roses, one of the world’s largest horticultural brands.

A languages graduate in French and German, Gareth originally focused on language-oriented, client facing roles prior to taking on a position where his attention shifted to the world of Intellectual Property, where he was responsible for not only a portfolio of over 1,500 rights around the world, but also the creation and implementation of a complete brand protection and enforcement strategy. Knowledgeable in many aspects of IP matters related to the maintenance of IP rights for ornamental plants, as well as the commercial challenges of acting in the best interests for clients, he is now ready to take his love of all things Intellectual Property further with Stobbs.

Gareth enjoys spending time with his family, being taken for walks by his dog as well as playing hockey for his hometown club. He also relaxes by playing video games and going to see heavy metal bands.
