Hamish joined Stobbs in 2025 as an IA Paralegal, specialising in trade mark renewals and ATLAS/ recordals.
Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, he earned a BA in Political Science and International Relations and an LLB from Victoria University. Admitted to the New Zealand Bar in 2017, he began his legal career as a junior lawyer at the Porirua Kapiti Community Law Centre, gaining experience across employment, criminal, and family law areas. His interest in intellectual property led him to the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand, where he worked as a trade mark examiner, eventually progressing to senior examiner. During his time there, he took on acting roles as both team leader and principal examiner, gaining extensive expertise in the trade mark registration process. He played a key role in training new hires and leading major projects to enhance the trade mark team's capabilities. Outside of work, Hamish is an avid runner, having completed his third half marathon. He is also a passionate guitarist, always looking to refine his skills in his spare time.
