Piers joined Stobbs in July 2026 to help us make the most of AI. His career has focused on a simple question- how can we use data to make better decisions? His technical approach is shaped by a unique background that bridges deep science with rapid commercial growth, focusing heavily on building robust technical infrastructure for the future. He holds an MA in Physics from Oxford and an MBA from Northwestern University in the US.

Piers brings over 25 years of experience building algorithmic data systems from scratch. He has scaled the data engines of prominent UK tech brands, serving as VP of Science at Deliveroo, Chief Data Officer at both Cazoo and MoneySuperMarket and Head of Data Science at Dunnhumby. Most recently, he co-founded an AI-native preventative healthcare startup Epic Life. He also sits on the Technology Advisory Board for Our Future Health UK, is a Founding Fellow of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences, and writes a monthly AI newsletter for the Royal Statistical Society.

Outside of work, Piers loves to leave the algorithms behind and head off to the mountains: a recent memorable highlight being a hut-to-hut adventure in the Dolomites. He is attempting to master kung-fu but needs at least another 20 years. And he is also partial to a spot of drum and bass but ‘Before Midnight’ seems far more enticing than all nighters these days.
