Cheryl joined Stobbs as our Renewals Lead in 2022.
Cheryl studied French and German at university and went on to complete a Masters in Translation. These qualifications took her to a translation company that specialised in patents, giving Cheryl her first taste of the intellectual property world. Here, Cheryl soon found that the fast-paced and collaborative nature of the operational part of the business was a much better fit for her than the more solitary role of a translator. Cheryl went on to specialise in European Patent validation, heading up the EPV team who were responsible for the validation of thousands of European patents each year.
At Stobbs, Cheryl brings her management experience to leading the Renewals team. With a keen focus on processes, Cheryl spends time with both the renewals team and the developers, reviewing and optimising the renewals processes and systems.
Outside of work, you can normally find Cheryl working on her house renovation (still) or caring for her many chilli plants. If she’s looking to unwind, nothing beats putting on a film and getting to work on a fun nail design.

If I have to narrow it down to my top three, I’ll say Little Miss Sunshine, The Big Lebowski and Reservoir Dogs.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
In my daydreams, I’m a professional scuba diving instructor to the wealthy and famous on an idyllic island somewhere.
