Bio
Karen joined Stobbs in 2026, and is an IA Executive in the Commercial Practice team. Karen is a solicitor experienced in commercial contracts, delivering commercially focussed advice and building legal processes which enable businesses to move at pace.
Karen has spent over six years working in-house at global brands in the consumer, technology and fashion retail sectors. Before joining Stobbs, Karen worked as Legal Counsel at Pret A Manger where she supported all areas of the business globally. She managed a wide range of matters including marketing, technology and procurement contracts. Prior to this, she worked in the Commercial Legal Team at TikTok, where she qualified as a solicitor in February 2024. Her work at TikTok spanned commercial contracts, talent, creative production, partnerships and events (including the first UK and Ireland TikTok Awards). Karen began her legal career in the fashion e-commerce industry as a paralegal at ASOS and YOOX-NET-A-PORTER respectively, where she gained a solid foundation in influencer marketing and advertising compliance. Before this, Karen joined the graduate programme at ASOS where she led projects including the roll-out of brand protection and IP training to the Customer Care operation.
Karen obtained her undergraduate Law degree and master’s degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law at the University of Sussex. She wrote her master’s dissertation on the impact of Brexit on the fashion industry, particularly UK trademark decisions and registrations. Outside of work, Karen enjoys travelling, yoga, reformer pilates and listening to podcasts. She is fluent in Cantonese (and is learning Spanish on Duolingo).

Favourite food?
Gyozas. I learnt how to make them during the pandemic and now they’re my go-to dinner choice.
Favourite music?
My favourite artists include Olivia Dean, Jorja Smith, 49th & Main, Barry Can’t Swim and Maggie Rogers. That being said, Taylor Swift is undoubtedly my top artist on Spotify.
Favourite book?
The Opposite of Loneliness.
Favourite gadget?
Probably my Dyson hairdryer - I’m all about efficiency!
Favourite film?
The Other Woman.
Choice of night out?
Anything that involves dancing (ideally to Taylor Swift).
Choice of dress code?
I do enjoy a fancy dress challenge.
Choice of holiday?
The South of France. I love the glorious food, weather and beaches.
What sound or noise do you love?
The clattering of dishware and cutlery - in other words, the sound of a table being prepared before a meal.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
A pilates or spin instructor. It impresses me how they can talk so coherently whilst exercising!
Favourite brand?
I’m a big fan of the homeware brand HAY. In terms of fashion, my favourite brands are Lucy & Yak and Ganni - I’m all about fun colours and prints.
