Bio
J. Scott joined Stobbs in 2025 as one of the three founders of Stobbs’ US offices.
Prior to joining Stobbs, J. Scott served as Sr. Director, IP, Advertising & AI Policy Law for Adobe. J. Scott has substantial in-house experience having worked at Fruit of the Loom, Yahoo, and Adobe.
J. Scott was also a partner at Adams Evans, PA from 1999 to 2007. On four separate occasions, Managing Intellectual Property magazine voted J. Scott one of the 50 Most Influential People in IP (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015).
J. Scott was inducted into the Legal Elite Hall of Fame by Business North Carolina magazine in 2016.
J. Scott has been named one of the 50 Market Shapers by World Trademark Review magazine. In 2017, he was awarded In-House Counsel of the Year by WTR.
J. Scott served as the 2015 President of the International Trademark Association and currently serves on the 2025 Copyright Committee.
J. Scott frequently lectures on trademark, copyright, Internet, and AI policy issues.
