David joined Stobbs as Brand Protection Strategist in 2023, to help build capabilities and efficiencies into the company's brand monitoring offerings.
He was lucky enough to start working with some of the pioneers of brand protection at Envisional in 2004, when the industry was relatively new. Over the course of his career, David has specialised in brand monitoring and analysis, working with a wide range of brands in industries including financial services, luxury goods, retail, media, e-commerce, technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, engineering, FMCG, and gambling, amongst others. He has developed a passion for thought-leadership, brand protection evangelising, and research and development, with particular interests in threat-level quantification for brand infringements, domain-name monitoring, and return-on-investment calculation. David enjoys working with customers to help them understand brand protection philosophy and methodology, and build effective programmes, thereby helping them to protect their companies' revenues and reputations. His book, 'Brand Protection in the Online World', was published in December 2016.
Previous careers include research in climate change and planetary geophysics, and outside of work David enjoys tracing his family tree, singing in choirs, and tending to his large collection of houseplants.
